How to prepare for paper research in Com filed
After studying in Canada for about six months, Some techniques for doing research, either from others’ advices or from certain papers’ opinions, are summarized below for further research. Till now, personally speaking, there are 6 aspects one should get well prepared:
- Mathematical Background (primary)
- Stochastic Process,
- Probability theory,
- Linear Algebra,
- Basic Calculus.
- Wireless Network Basis (primary)
- Architectures: Computer Network –7 layers&protocol
- Propagation: Wireless Channel Models
- Modulation: Communication Theory
- Network Access: Multiple Access Techs
- Information: Code, Shannon Theorem
- Application: Typical Wireless Network
- Signal Filed: tranform-domain analysis
- Advanced Mathematical Analysis Theory (advanced)
- Optimization, Queueing, Game Theory etc.
- Several kinds of hot Network (advanced)
- WSN, CRN, BAN, P2P, Ad Hoc, etc
- Typical research Issues and some Hotspot problems
- Energy efficient & harvesting, Transmission Rate and Delay,
- Network Throughput, MAC protocol, errors, security.
- Spectrum, channel resource allocation, pricing related,
- network economics, network coding, coexistence, green commu. MIMO
- topics listed above is still in a high level, usually, its better to find out a specific and relatively small but general problem, and then analyze it in several different kinds of scenarios, which would be a quick way to publish papers..(I never buy it, I wanna do something meaningful and something that really matters.)
- Useful and efficient simulation tools
- Matlab, existing Java&C open-source software,
- NS2, OMNeT, OPNeT and even hareware simulators.
- English Spoken and Reading Ability.
- Actually, reading papers are what ones should do everyday, but the key is to think and record while reading. Good Spoken skills would be much helpful to communicate and discuss ideas with others.
